Remembering the Filipino Katoliko Founding Head Bishop Most Rev Sotero Feril Fenis, Sr., and celebrating his valuable service to the Lord, the Church, the country, and the People.
“Bishop Sotero Feril Fenis, Sr or also known as ‘Msgr Telong’, was born on April 22, 1954, in Norala, South Cotabato.
Inspired to serve the Lord, the country, and its people, he submitted himself to the Church and was ordained as a Priest by the Supreme Bishop of PECCAVI – the late Msgr Morito M. Cabaron, Sr, in 1972.
A turning point happened to measure the commitment of Rev Fr Telong and fellow reverends in 1995. To continue the vocation serving the Lord and overcome the internal dynamics of PECCAVI together with fellow
Reverend Fathers, Mothers, Missionaries, and membership established the FILIPINO KATOLIKO and unanimously elected Rev Fr Telong to lead the congregation as the Founding Head Bishop.
He served with honesty and commitment to God and the People as one. He believed that “Foolishness will go back to your body”.
He was gifted with a loving and sincere wife, the late Rev Mother Rosevilla G. Verzano-Fenis, and we’re blessed with four children.
To his last breath, he kept his commitment to the Lord and his Faith. He rested in Peace in the name of the Lord on July 25, 2021.”
